We’re bringing Indianapolis together for a family-friendly unity 5K in the morning and the first-ever Latino Parade in downtown Indianapolis in the afternoon—launching Hispanic Heritage Month with joy, representation, and purpose.

A: The events are organized by Chingón Legacy, Inc., a culturally rooted Indiana organization focused on building pathways for community wellness, youth development, entrepreneurship, and long-term economic mobility.

Q: Is this political?
A: No. This is a community and culture event—focused on unity, wellness, pride, and representation. Everyone is welcome.

Q: Where will the events take place?
A: Both events take place in Downtown Indianapolis. Routes, staging areas, parking recommendations, and street closure maps will be published on the website and emailed to newsletter subscribers as they are finalized.

A: The Unidos 5K is for everyone—runners, walkers, families, first-timers, and experienced athletes. We want it to feel welcoming and energetic, not intimidating.

  • Competitive runners who want official timing.

A: Yes—the top 10 people who cross the finish line will have the opportunity to be part of our Latino Desfile (Parade) for bragging rights!

Q: Can I run with a stroller?
A: Yes—this is a family-friendly event. We’ll share recommended tips and safety guidance closer to race day.

Q: Are pets allowed on the course?
A: We will follow city rules. If pets are allowed, they must be leashed, and participants should be mindful of crowd density and safety. Pet owners are solely responsible for their pets.

A: The Indianapolis Desfile Latino is a cultural parade celebrating the diversity of Latino communities—countries, traditions, music, dance, businesses, and families—while welcoming allies and supporters.

Q: Do I need a ticket to watch?
A: We aim for the parade viewing experience to be accessible to the community. This year, no ticket is required—we want everyone to enjoy the Desfile.

Q: Can my country/heritage group be represented?
A: Yes! We want broad representation across Latin America and the Caribbean. If you’re passionate about representing a country or region, join the committee or submit an interest form.

Q: Who can participate in the parade?
A: Participation is open to:

  • Latino-owned and allied businesses

  • Community organizations and nonprofits

  • Schools and youth groups

Q: Can I get a refund if I can’t attend?
A: All registrations are final. No refunds will be issued for any reason, including (but not limited to) weather, personal scheduling conflicts, illness, travel issues, or inability to attend. Registrations are non-transferable and cannot be transferred to another participant.

Q: How do I become a vendor?
A: Vendor applications will be posted on the website. You can also submit a vendor interest form now and we’ll notify you when vendor registration opens.
