En Chingón Legacy siempre hemos tenido algo muy claro: no estamos aquí para competir con las organizaciones que sirven a nuestra comunidad. Estamos aquí para servir a nuestra comunidad y para ayudar a construir algo más fuerte, más sostenible y más unido para todos.

Recientemente tuvimos una conversación real y honesta con otra organización que también está haciendo trabajo comunitario, y una verdad quedó aún más clara: el financiamiento es difícil. Muchas organizaciones están enfrentando retos reales cuando se trata de sostenibilidad, recursos y crecimiento a largo plazo. Esa realidad no es algo que celebramos, y mucho menos algo que juzgamos. Al contrario, es un recordatorio de lo importante que es este trabajo y de la urgencia con la que nuestra comunidad necesita soluciones que sean colaborativas, prácticas y con visión de futuro.

En Chingón Legacy, esa realidad ha influido en cómo decidimos construir. Desde el principio, nuestra meta ha sido crear una organización que avance hacia la autosostenibilidad, una organización que no tenga que vivir en modo de supervivencia y que no dependa únicamente de subvenciones para poder seguir sirviendo a la gente. Gran parte de nuestra visión está basada en el apoyo de la comunidad, ingresos generados, alianzas, programas, servicios y eventos que ayuden a sostener este trabajo con el paso del tiempo.

Eso no significa que las subvenciones no sean importantes. Sí lo son. Sabemos que pueden ser una herramienta clave para muchas organizaciones. Precisamente por eso también estamos trabajando en compilar una lista de subvenciones para organizaciones sin fines de lucro, con el fin de ayudar a que las oportunidades sean más visibles y accesibles. Nosotros creemos que los recursos deben compartirse, no guardarse. Creemos que la información debe circular. Y creemos que nuestra comunidad se fortalece cuando más organizaciones, emprendedores y líderes tienen acceso a las herramientas que necesitan para crecer.

Ese es el espíritu con el que nació Chingón Legacy.

Estamos construyendo un movimiento basado en la movilidad económica, el emprendimiento, el desarrollo de jóvenes, el apoyo comunitario y la conexión cultural. Estamos respondiendo a necesidades que nuestra comunidad sigue trayendo directamente hacia nosotros: necesidades prácticas, urgentes y muchas veces desatendidas. Y aunque muchas organizaciones están haciendo trabajo importante de distintas maneras, la realidad es que la necesidad en nuestra comunidad es mucho más grande de lo que una sola organización puede cargar por sí sola.

Por eso la colaboración importa.

Queremos ser transparentes: desde el principio buscamos acercarnos a organizaciones latinas prominentes con la esperanza de abrir la puerta a la colaboración, la alianza y el apoyo mutuo. Hasta ahora, Mujeres Conectadas y Arte Mexicano en Indiana han sido las organizaciones que han comenzado a colaborar con nosotros, y agradecemos sinceramente su disposición para construir en conjunto. Sabemos que hay espacio para más. Sabemos que hay trabajo por hacer. Y sabemos que si de verdad queremos elevar a nuestra comunidad, tenemos que estar dispuestos a conectar de manera pública, intencional y honesta.

No creemos en una mentalidad de escasez. Creemos en construir movimiento.

Nuestra comunidad no necesita divisiones. No necesita puertas cerradas. No necesita organizaciones operando desde el miedo unas hacia otras. Nuestra comunidad necesita líderes, fundadores, organizaciones, negocios y aliados que entiendan que hay suficiente trabajo, suficiente necesidad y suficiente responsabilidad para que todos nos presentemos con propósito.

Además, nuestro fundador cuenta con experiencia trabajando en el ámbito de fundaciones y conoce de cerca la redacción de subvenciones, así como el trabajo logístico y administrativo que este proceso implica. Esa experiencia también puede ser un recurso para organizaciones comunitarias que necesiten orientación, apoyo o asistencia en estos procesos.

Por eso queremos abrir la puerta aún más.

Chingón Legacy está invitando a organizaciones que sirven a la comunidad latina a participar en una reunión virtual de preguntas y respuestas el jueves 9 de abril de 2026 a las 6:30 p. m., para conocernos mejor, explorar cómo podemos crecer juntos y dialogar sobre cómo podemos apoyarnos mutuamente para servir mejor a nuestra comunidad a través de la colaboración y no de la competencia.

Esta conversación es para organizaciones que desean:

• conocer más sobre Chingón Legacy

• compartir en qué están trabajando

• explorar oportunidades de colaboración

• fortalecer conexiones dentro de la comunidad

• dialogar sobre cómo podemos apoyarnos mutuamente hacia adelante

Esto no se trata de política.

Esto no se trata de división.

Esto se trata de comunidad.

Estamos haciendo esta invitación de manera pública porque creemos que la transparencia importa y porque queremos crear espacio para cualquier organización que realmente quiera construir en conjunto.

Porque al final del día, este trabajo no se trata de quién recibe el crédito. Se trata de si nuestra comunidad realmente está siendo atendida, apoyada y llevada hacia adelante.

Y para nosotros, la respuesta es sencilla:

Estamos aquí para elevar cada parte de nuestra comunidad.

Estamos aquí para construir con cualquiera que realmente tome en serio el trabajo.

Y estamos aquí para ayudar a crear algo más grande de lo que una sola organización podría construir por sí sola.

La comunidad latina necesita colaboración, inversión y acción hoy más que nunca. No después. No cuando sea conveniente. Ahora.

Si eres una organización, fundador, patrocinador, donante o líder comunitario, este es el momento de acercarte. Este es el momento de invertir en trabajo real, en personas reales y en impacto comunitario real. Este es el momento de ayudar a construir algo que nuestra comunidad pueda sostener, hacer crecer y llevar con orgullo por generaciones.

No estamos aquí para competir por espacio. Estamos aquí para ayudar a abrir más espacio para todos.

Crezcamos juntos. Colaboremos. Apoyémonos mutuamente.

This Is Bigger Than One Organization: A Call for Collaboration in Our Community

At Chingón Legacy, we have always been very clear about one thing: we are not here to compete with organizations that serve our community. We are here to serve our community and to help build something stronger, more sustainable, and more united for everyone.

Recently, we had a real and honest conversation with another organization that is also doing community work, and one truth became even clearer: funding is tight. Many organizations are facing real challenges when it comes to sustainability, resources, and long-term growth. That reality is not something we celebrate, much less something we judge. On the contrary, it is a reminder of how important this work is and how urgently our community needs solutions that are collaborative, practical, and forward-thinking.

At Chingón Legacy, that reality has shaped how we have chosen to build. From the beginning, our goal has been to create an organization that moves toward self-sustainability, an organization that does not have to live in survival mode and that does not depend solely on grants in order to continue serving people. Much of our vision is grounded in community support, generated revenue, partnerships, programs, services, and events that help sustain this work over time.

That does not mean grants are not important. They are. We know they can be a key tool for many organizations. That is precisely why we are also working on compiling a list of grants for nonprofit organizations, with the goal of helping make opportunities more visible and accessible. We believe resources should be shared, not guarded. We believe information should circulate. And we believe our community grows stronger when more organizations, entrepreneurs, and leaders have access to the tools they need to grow.

That is the spirit in which Chingón Legacy was born.

We are building a movement rooted in economic mobility, entrepreneurship, youth development, community support, and cultural connection. We are responding to needs that our community continues to bring directly to us—practical, urgent needs that are often left unmet. And although many organizations are doing important work in different ways, the reality is that the need in our community is much greater than what any one organization can carry on its own.

That is why collaboration matters.

We want to be transparent: from the beginning, we sought to connect with prominent Latino organizations in the hope of opening the door to collaboration, partnership, and mutual support. So far, Mujeres Conectadas and Arte Mexicano en Indiana have been the organizations that have begun collaborating with us, and we sincerely appreciate their willingness to build together. We know there is room for more. We know there is work to do. And we know that if we truly want to uplift our community, we must be willing to connect publicly, intentionally, and honestly.

We do not believe in a scarcity mindset. We believe in building movement.

Our community does not need division. It does not need closed doors. It does not need organizations operating from fear of one another. Our community needs leaders, founders, organizations, businesses, and allies who understand that there is enough work, enough need, and enough responsibility for all of us to show up with purpose.

In addition, our founder has experience working in the foundation space and has firsthand knowledge of grant writing, as well as the logistical and administrative work that this process requires. That experience can also be a resource for community organizations that need guidance, support, or assistance in these processes.

That is why we want to open the door even wider.
